Social Run and Treasure Hunt
SUNDAY 25th . APRIL 2021
Due to the restrictions with Covid 19 we are unable, at this time, to confirm if the event will take place.
However, we have put a tentative date (Sunday 25th April) for this event in the Calendar and will be reviewing this again in April at which time if the event is to go ahead, we will put the entry forms on our website.
Obviously at this stage, we all have to patiently wait and see how the easing from Lockdown progresses but will know better by late spring how things are developing and if any normality is slowly returning.
The Social Run and Treasure Hunt is normally held on the FBHVC “Drive It Day” in April and enables members to dust off their pride and joy after the winter hibernation and enjoy the company of likeminded members with the option of participating in the treasure hunt (whilst stopped).
This is a very popular event with a run of about twenty miles set in and around the Wirral following a pre-determined route provided at the start along with the treasure hunt stopping at places of interest and joining in the fun by solving clues relevant to the stop.
Club members and their vehicles entered congregate at the start venue usually a café/pub where food and drink is available prior to solving some of the clues, or just leisurely setting out and following the route instructions. Vehicles following the route stop at various locations where there is parking to solve further clues finishing at a pub where provided they haven’t fallen out with their navigator can correlate their answers to the treasure hunt prior to handing them into the judges and enjoying a late lunch.
After lunch and discussion of the various answers to the clues, a Trophy, Prize and Certificate are presented to the vehicle obtaining the most points solving the treasure hunt clues. An added Treasure is awarded in that the winners are empowered to set the following years run
An Entry Form for the event can be downloaded by clicking below, the event is open to club members provided that their vehicle is insured and road legal.
Club members are requested to complete an entry form to enable the organisers to inform the start and finish venues of the number likely to require food.
